How Many Sensors by Home

Supervision and Batteries
Every sensor is supervised: the hub checks in with each one and reports a missing sensor, a tamper, or a low battery to the app, so a dead battery never goes unnoticed. Door and window sensors use one CR2032 coin cell (2 to 3 minutes to swap), motion and glass break sensors use 2 CR123A cells.
Placement Rules
4 placement rules prevent most false alarms: mount door sensors on the frame side away from the hinge, keep motion sensors 7 to 8 feet high facing away from stairs and heat sources, mount glass break sensors within 20 feet of the glass with line of sight, and skip windows pets can reach.
