Works With Vivint: Google, Alexa, Z-Wave and the Device List

Vivint works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for voice control, with Philips Hue lighting, with Nest and some Ecobee thermostats, and with most Z-Wave locks, lights, and plugs paired to the Smart Hub; it does not work with Apple HomeKit beyond select features, and it never uses third-party cameras because video verification runs only on Vivint cameras. This page tables the integrations by platform, explains voice control, lists the Z-Wave rule, and names what does not work.

Prices and terms verified October 7, 2026. Vivint sets all prices; dealer promotions are listed separately.

Integrations by Platform

The table lists each platform, how it connects, and what it controls, from Vivint's works-with page and 2026 reviews.

Voice Control

Voice control runs through a cloud link, not Z-Wave: link the Vivint account in the Alexa or Google Home app, then say the command to a speaker or display. Disarming by voice requires a spoken PIN on both platforms, and camera streams appear on Echo Show and Nest Hub screens.

The Z-Wave Rule

Most Z-Wave Plus locks, switches, dimmers, and plugs pair with the Smart Hub, but Vivint supports only devices it has certified; ask support to confirm a model before buying, and have the technician pair it, because adding devices uses the installer menu.

What Does Not Work

3 things do not work with Vivint: Apple HomeKit as a platform (only select features), third-party cameras of any brand, and Wi-Fi-only smart devices that have no Z-Wave radio and no Vivint account link.
