Vivint Military Discount: Free Moves, Deferral and Cancellation Rules

No, Vivint does not offer a military discount on service; its military policy says so directly. What it does offer active-duty and reserve members is worth more in practice: free system moves, deferral of monitoring payments for up to 12 months during a temporary assignment, and a review to cancel the agreement when deploying, moving on base, retiring after 20 or more years, or being medically discharged. Veterans and dependents are not covered. This guide explains each benefit, how to claim it, and the limits.

The Moving Waiver

Military members can move their Vivint system to a new home without paying the standard removal and reinstallation fees of $149 each, but a move between 2 off-base homes in the US without a deployment is not grounds to end the agreement.

The moving with Vivint guide covers the civilian fees.

How to Claim It

Send Vivint a copy of your official orders, or the on-base lease or medical discharge paperwork, and the review starts within 3 to 5 business days; military account questions go to Vivint Military Support on 855-368-8568.

What Is Not Covered

3 things are not covered: veterans and dependents, who fall outside the policy (although Vivint considers accounts in a spouse's name); an ordinary discharge, which is not grounds to cancel; and the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, which Vivint says does not apply to its service agreements.

Vivint's national offer of free installation and $0 activation applies to military buyers like any new customer. The deals page lists it.
